Virginia Graham - Ceramic Artist

I have liked the work of Virginia Graham for a long time. I first spotted her work in Leeds in The Craft Centre and Design Gallery just below The Headrow Art Gallery. The craft centre is full of wonderful gems but I instantly loved Virginia Graham's quirky pieces. Virginia uses a combination of slip casting and hand building techniques and their surface decoration includes slip painting, enamel transfer printing and metallic lustre’s.

Below are a few images of my work. I experimented with ceramics during my final year of my degree and really loved it. I did a Textiles degree so I incorporated embroidery with it. Maybe one day I will have the time to take it up again...

We are going scrapbooking mad here at The Paper Parlour! Whether it's a scrapbook, memory book, scrap book album or photograph album we are finding that if it isn't stuck down it soon will be. We have just got some brilliant scrapbooks in this week in two different sizes and in an array of colours. The MT Tape and Cavallini Paper Tape are great for sticking polaroids/photographs, maps and tickets down in Cavallini stamps and Papaya Art glitter stickers decorate around the edges and space in between.

Perfect for scrapbooking, packing gifts and sticking stuff down in general! They can also be used to create and add to artwork.  I used them to stick my polaroid pictures down in place and the tape added to the whole thing.  Click here to view our full range of tapes. Peter Clark

I just found the collage artist Peter Clark and have really fell for his genius paper pooches. Not only am I obsessed with paper mechanics and paper craft, I am also a major poodle fan so these first two images instantly caught my attention. I have a Cavalier King Charles/Poodle mix  (Cavapoo) called Betsy so it is only right that I also found the wonderful 'King Charlie' design too. If you would like to view his work please click here to keep updated with his shows.

Lou Rota

I really love the unusual work by Lou Rota. I like the inspired and kind of creepy use of bugs decorating a dinner plate. Along with the bugs she often adds birds and florals. I bought some of her plates from Anthropologie for Christmas and had not realised she also does various other brilliantly quirky creations. The first two images are plates from the Anthropologie collection. The third image displays the use of fine English bone china hand decorated and the fourth shows vintage and salvaged plates up-cycled into one-off pieces.
