I have just come across the work of Joana Rosa Bragança, an artist and illustrator from Portugal. I am quite taken with her quirky and humourous illustrations.
Above is a 3D beach scene and is part of a set of brilliant illustrations.

The above work was for an exhibition at a Puppetry Museum.
Here are some handcut stickers collection based on original watercolors.

Continue readingI have just come across the wonderful work of Amy Hamilton. I am completely smitten by her illustrations and especially her woodland creatures like this sweet fawn above.
Above are a few of my favourite woodland inspired items we have in at the moment. Firstly we have the Cavallini Flora and Fauna Stamp Set, then You're a Fox Card and Evelina Journal both by Rifle Paper Co. and finally the MT Masking Tape Encyclopedia/Animal Japanese Washi Tape. All these items are available now at The Paper Parlour.
Paulina Bartnik creates the most beautiful and detailed embroidered brooches. You van visit her Etsy shop cOnieco to buy these items but I would recommend you are quick as they are all unique and handmade so are sure to be snapped up quickly.
Continue readingIn honour of the fast approaching Halloween festivities I felt compelled to share some spooky loves of mine.
Ali Gulec created these beautiful and decorative skulls above. They are inspired by 'Sugar Skulls' which are a part of Mexican offerings on The Day of the Dead. These skulls are a way of honouring deceased family and friends during this much loved festival.
Peter Callesen's eerily beautiful paper angels are quite special. I love the detail involved in everything he does and the graceful images he creates with baby angels leaping from the paper and skeletons falling off the page. It must take great precision and patience to create these gems.
So finally, how can you resist the charm and sugary detail of these amazing Biscuiteers offerings pictured below! These truly are Sugar Skulls. A friend recently bought me the Paris selection box for my birthday and they are just too beautiful to eat!
Well I am afraid this is as dark as I can go... yes not very dark at all. Perhaps this post is not exactly a spooky Halloween tribute but more of a celebratory spin on the day of the dead.
