We recently found Claire Basler and we are obsessed and smitten in equal measures with her beautiful paintings and murals.

Claire is a French artist and a master of floral painting. You will find many images below as we could not narrow them down, it was far to difficult to decide.

Just imagine having paintings like these from floor to ceiling in your home, it would be breathtaking.

We love the moody and atmospheric colour palettes and the grand scale of her paintings, transforming delicate flowers into both dreamy and dramatic murals.

 Now a very distant memory... I went exploring France in June/July this year and took some Polaroid pics along the way. Its been a while since my Polaroid camera got to stretch its photographic legs and I am afraid I was rather rusty yet again with regards to getting the light settings correct and also getting the hole image in the damn picture!! My favourite annoying motto is practice makes perfect so perhaps I should follow this advice.

I wish it could be this sunny and lovely all year round!

 Here at The Paper Parlour we are just starting to get our 2015 Calendars and Diaries in woo! We currently have the new Cavallini 2015 designs in and they really are special this year. There are tons of designs to choose from and they all have that amazing Cavallini quality to them. My personal favourite is the Flora and Fauna Butterflies Planner. We have also had some spangly new additions to the MT Tape range. MT Tape have introduced some super sweet mini tape sets and also really cute individual tapes. I really love the Encyclopedia range as not only do they have lovely illustrations they are also very informative!

It is quite difficult to show the detail on some of these MT Tapes so below are a few close ups for you to peruse.

We are expecting the Papaya Art Diaries and Calendars at the end of August so keep checking in. The 2015 designs are some of my favourites they have done to date!!

Here at The Paper Parlour we love cake. We love eating it, making it and eating it some more. We are particularly falling for the less is more style cake. The combination of bare sponge, butter cream, fruit and flowers is simply beautiful. Below is a cake we found from the genius that is the Lily Vanilli Bakery.

We are also thoroughly convinced that as there is less butter cream and icing used to decorate the outer surface and edges, this style of cake is surely a healthier option to go for!

We also have a new range of super sweet gift tags. Even though the images below don't show it, they are all covered in oodles of glitter!

We hate to go on and on but we also have a full range of Sticky Note Sets and File Folders all featuring the incredible prints from Papaya Art.

I came across this first image and it made me chuckle. I thought it was magic how the little baby/creepy old man flew out of the crushed head so gracefully. Then I thought how amazing the detail was and I had to find out some more.  Johnson Tsang is the  Hong Kong based artist and sculptor behind these amazing creations.

He has showcased his work all over the world in a variety of exhibitions.

I know these pieces are life like but they seem so much more than that. They move whilst keeping still (as odd as that sounds)

Everything looks so delicate and alive I cannot fathom how labour intensive they must be to make.

Not only does he focus on ceramics but he is also a master of stainless steel sculpture. He makes in a variety of styles with varying subject matters from the fun and amusing to the more macabre and gritty real world topics of death and war.
